“Aircel, Amazon, Softbank, TelBru, Telecom Italia and XL Axiata to Speak at World Telecom Summit 2011”

Olygen today released its latest updates to the World Telecom Summit 2011 speaker list. Aircel Limited, Amazon Web Services, Softbank Corp., Telekom Brunei (TelBru), Telecom Italia and XL Axiata have confirmed their participation in this year’s summit.

Chandan Ghosh, Aircel’s Chief of Wholesale Carrier & Enterprise Business, Masahiko Yabuki, Softbank’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development in Global Group, and Pradeep Kumar, XL Axiata’s General Manager of Customer Analytics, will be sharing pointers on Customer Experience Management and case studies from their organizations. Cristian Cocozza, Telecom Italia’s Manager of Scouting and Innovative Technologies, and Simone Brunozzi, Amazon Web Services’ Technology Evangelist for Asia Pacific, will open and close the Cloud Computing track respectively with their keynotes. And Lim Ming Soon, TelBru’s General Manager of Product Development, Marketing & Sales, and Deputy CEO of B-Mobile Communications, will be addressing a plenary session on the first day of the summit.

Chandan Ghosh is the Chief of Wholesale Carrier & Enterprise Business of Aircel Limited. He is responsible for the growth of Aircel’s Enterprise & SME Business, and Global Wholesale & Long Distance. Prior to joining Aircel, he held various senior positions in major telcos around the world, including British Telecom, AT&T and Bharti Airtel. Chandan’s tenure with Bharti Airtel saw him starting its International Wholesale & Carrier Business after the government of India broke VSNL’s monopoly by liberalizing international long distance telecoms.

Chandan speaks regularly at telecom events worldwide and holds prestigious advisory roles in several international telecom bodies, influencing global telecommunications trends. He graduated from Bombay University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Masahiko Yabuki is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development in Softbank Corp. He leads the development of strategic businesses of mobile internet services in both Softbank Corp. and Softbank Mobile Corp. with international players.

Prior to joining Softbank Group in 2004, Yabuki established UTStarcom Inc.’s first office in Japan as its Country General Manager of Japan and generated substantial amounts of sales of network products. He was also previously with Kanematsu Corp., for nearly 20 years, in charge of Asian business development including telecommunications projects. Yabuki graduated from Kobe University of Commerce with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Management.

Pradeep Kumar is XL Axiata’s General Manager of Customer Analytics. He oversees the strategies for the improvement of business performance in the Customer Lifecycle. Pradeep specializes in the development and implementation of Data Driven Acquisition, Retention and Revenue Enhancement Strategies making extensive use of statistical and stochastic techniques.

Prior to joining XL, Pradeep worked with Vodafone India as Manager of Customer Value Management. He graduated in 2004 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Cristian Cocozza presently serves as Manager of Scouting and Innovative Technologies in the Technology Plan & Standard Coordination department of Telecom Italia Labs (TILAB), governing the selection of innovative companies and solutions that can be introduced in Telecom Italia’s network. He also coordinates the access and transport networks evolution inside the Telecom Italia Technology Plan.

Cristian was formerly an analyst in the economics and regulation department prior to his current position. He received his degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 1999 and joined TILAB, former CSELT, in 2001.

Simone Brunozzi is Amazon Web Services’ Technology Evangelist for the Asia Pacific region. He is a truly passionate technologist, involved in IT and computing since an early age. He joined Amazon.com in March 2008 in the role of Amazon Web Services Technology Evangelist for Europe, to raise awareness about Cloud Computing and help developers build applications. In January 2010 he relocated to Singapore, becoming the first AWS Technology Evangelist for the APAC region.

Simone has been a very popular speaker in Europe, United States, Asia and Oceania, since 2008, speaking at more than 260 events (and collecting a huge amount of airline miles). Simone is regularly invited as a speaker to major conferences all around the world.

Lim Ming Soon has held the position of General Manager at TelBru from 2006 since joining in 1998. Ming Soon leads the Product Development, Marketing and Sales divisions with a focus on the growing broadband market in Brunei. He successfully strategized and executed marketing strategies to facilitate TelBru’s twenty percent annual growth and cultivated its lead with a market share of more than fifty percent in the broadband market.

Under his portfolio, Ming Soon also helms the QoS and QoE broadband improvement and introduced WiMAX, bringing about an increase in customer reach in B-Mobile Communications, a subsidiary of TelBru, as its Deputy CEO. In addition to Product Development, Marketing and Sales, he also heads the Broadband Operations & Maintenance unit, overseeing network integrity and quality in B-Mobile and TelBru to ensure seamless integration of both operators. Ming Soon graduated from the University of Coventry with a Master’s degree in Communications Management as a Chevening Scholar in 2005.
